2026 pricing

Honest Sydney emergency plumber pricing — no surge rates, no hidden call-out fees

Standard emergency rate any hour of any day for genuine emergencies. Same Tuesday-morning price at 3am Sunday or Christmas Day. Below: the real ranges for the sixteen most common Sydney emergency plumbing jobs in 2026.

Two tiers, no games

Standard emergency rate vs after-hours convenience rate

Two pricing tiers cover every job we do across Sydney. Genuine emergencies always sit in Tier 1 — same rate any hour, any day. Tier 2 only applies when you're booking non-urgent work outside business hours for convenience.

Tier 1 — Most common

Standard Emergency Rate

$120–160 /hr

Any hour, any day, any Sydney suburb — for genuine plumbing emergencies (burst pipes, gas leaks, blocked sewers, no hot water with vulnerable household members).

  • Call-out fee included First 30 min of travel + diagnosis
  • Same rate weekends + public holidays No surge pricing on Christmas Day
  • Parts at supplier cost + 15% Same markup any hour
  • Written quote before work starts Labour, parts and total
  • Workmanship guarantee from the plumber Ask what it covers before work starts
  • After-hours premium Doesn't apply to emergencies

Tier 2 — Convenience

After-Hours Convenience Rate

$180–300 /hr

Non-urgent work specifically booked outside business hours for convenience — a leaky tap on Sunday evening, a tap washer at 9pm, a planned fixture swap on a public holiday.

  • Same call-out structure First 30 min included in rate
  • Same parts markup (15% over cost) No weekend surge on parts
  • Written quote before work starts Labour, parts and total
  • Workmanship guarantee from the plumber Ask what it covers before work starts
  • Booked outside business hours Convenience, not emergency
  • Standard emergency rate available Reserved for actual emergencies

Hourly rates

Standard rates and how the maths works

We charge by the hour for time-and-materials work, with parts at supplier cost plus a flat 15% markup. There's no separate call-out fee — travel and the first 30 minutes of on-site diagnosis are included in the hourly rate. After-hours premium pricing only applies to non-urgent work specifically booked outside business hours for convenience.

Our pricing philosophy

Six principles that shape every quote we issue

  • No surge pricing for genuine emergencies. A burst pipe at 3am Sunday is the same standard emergency rate as a burst pipe Tuesday morning. Public holidays, weekends, overnight — same standard rate. The plumber confirms the rate with you before attending, so there are no surprises at the door.
  • Written quotes before any work begins. Every job — emergency or scheduled — gets a written quote before we start. Labour, parts, total. You approve before we touch anything. If scope expands once we open up walls or floors, we stop and re-quote in writing.
  • Parts at supplier cost plus 15% flat. No "surge" markup on weekends, no "emergency" markup overnight. Major parts (hot water units, full replacements) quoted as fixed-price install jobs rather than time-and-materials.
  • Honest diagnosis even when it costs us. If a tap cartridge replacement fixes the issue, we don't quote the whole-house re-pipe. If a hot water unit needs an element and not a replacement, that's what we recommend.
  • Insurance documentation on request. Ask the plumber for photos before and after, an itemised invoice with their NSW Fair Trading licence number and a written likely-cause statement — most will supply these for a claim.
  • Workmanship guarantee from the plumber. Workmanship guarantees are offered by the plumber who does the job — ask what it covers and for how long before work starts, and get it on the invoice. Manufacturer warranties on parts (Caroma, Rheem, Rinnai, Bosch) pass through directly.
